Our Story
2009
The Zoomers on the Go program was created by a team of health care providers in Saint John, New Brunswick with the goal of reducing the risk of falls in aging adults.
2019
With the help of the University of New Brunswick, the Zoomers on the Go program expanded across New Brunswick to serve the three major cities and several rural locations.
2020
Zoomers on the Go launched live online classes to reach participants during the COVID19 pandemic, and due to their popularity, online classes are now a staple in our programming!
2023
Zoomers on the Go online classes were expanded to be available to aging adults all across Canada.
2024
To better reflect the program’s main goal, our name was changed from Zoomers on the Go to Zoomers in Balance. We now offer over 50 locations across New Brunswick, have trained 112 program leaders, and have had over 3,500 participants to date.
COMING SOON
The Zoomers in Balance program will soon offer high-quality pre-recorded exercise videos, have printable PDF versions of our exercise classes, and expand in-person classes across Canada!

Our Classes
To have the biggest impact on reducing the risk of falls, evidence-based guidelines suggest that fall-prevention exercise programs should be done:
3 hours per week
All year long
Focused on challenging balance
To reach these guidelines, Zoomers in Balance offers a variety of class options including in-person classes and virtual classes. Pre-recorded classes and printable PDF classes will also be available soon!
Each class is 60 minutes and includes a warm-up, muscle strengthening, balance work and a cool down.
In-person & Online Classes
Our in-person and online class schedule runs all year long and is split up into four different sessions (winter, spring, summer, and fall). Most sessions last 12 weeks.
SEASON | START | END |
---|---|---|
Winter | January | March |
Spring | April | June |
Summer | July | September |
Fall | October | December |
To attend an in-person class, you must register at the correct location, and you must re-register for EACH session. Registration is first offered to current participants and then new participants are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
To attend online classes, you will need access to internet and a computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone. You will also need to re-register for each session to receive the links.
